Nearly half of readers, 47 percent, who answered this week’s poll question said that, in light of June’s dismal job report citing only 80,000 new jobs created and an 8.2 percent unemployment rate, their job situation was the same.

For 26 percent of you, it was better and for 27 percent of you it was even worse.

Due to the relative proximity of the Nov. 6 general election, the report received widespread attention not only for its economic news but also the potential effects it could have on the current presidential race.
