When it comes to the highest concentration of Donald Trump supporters in Maricopa, the Province neighborhood takes the big red MAGA hat.

Pinal County election results from the March 19 presidential primary, released this morning, show Province has the highest concentration of Republicans, and most of them are Trumpers.

Province, home to about 4,000 people aged 55 and older, voted mostly for Trump of the 2,853 voting Republican in the presidential primary.

Province, with its golfcarts, traffic-stopping ducks and rabbits breeding like rabbits, has a good chunk of Democrats as well. Poll numbers from the presidential primary show 2,495 voted Democratic, just shy of 50%. No surprise the majority — 97% — voted for Biden.

That makes Province more pink than deep-red Republican.

Other Trump-supporting voter concentrations around Maricopa were found in Maricopa Meadows, Maricopa Wells and Santa Rosa Crossings.

The Desert Cedars and Alterra North communities tend to vote toward the blue side of the political spectrum. Alterra North voted 1,095, or 52.4% Democratic compared to 944 voting Republican, or 45%. The lion’s share of that support went to Biden.

Desert Cedars voted 1,278, or 52%, as Democrats, compared to 1,146 or 46.5% Republican.

Outside Maricopa proper, Hidden Valley and Thunderbird Farms voted big for Trump.

  1. My family has been in Arizona since before it was a state. Arizona is not broken. The influx of economic refugees from the pacific states and Upper Midwest have tint the political spectrum. One question they don’t seem to ask themselves is, why was it the way is was where I came from, and why it it the way it is in Arizona. The effects of this tinting is being manifested in property values and rent. Since the markets where the new arrivals came from has a much higher median value they can move here an create bidding wars with long time residence. Pushing them out of the home buying process altogether. Arizona used to be a place where people generally left each other alone. Now, countless times I’ve been accosted by people who just want to “educate” me. I enjoy openly carrying my firearm, it brings me so much joy when it makes people uncomfortable. Real Arizonans don’t bat an eye, it the way it’s been. And in my opinion, one of the reasons Arizona has historically had lower crime rates than the rest of the country. With the exception of Phoenix, but I’m from Tucson. I don’t want to live in California, I want to live in Arizona. Please stop ruining my home. When Arizona eventually has California problems, those who moved here because it’s a cheap place to live with a great economy will tire of the heat and move on to greener pastures. One final thought, I was raised hyper conscious about water. By a show of hands, (I’ve asked this question to hundreds of people, not 1 has said yes) do you turn off the water when you brush your teeth? During that time on average 1½-2 gallons of water run down the drain. If we all did that 1 simple act it would save millions of gallons of water a day.
