A 28-year-old Maricopa woman was arrested on assault and disorderly conduct charges after a fight at a QuikTrip convenience store left another woman with head and neck injuries.

Maricopa Police Department, in a March 8 probable cause statement, reported Shavonna Begay was arrested after witnesses she was the aggressor in a mid-afternoon fight between her and another woman.

The victim woman was left with bruises on her face, neck and arms. She corroborated witness statements at the store, 20530 N. John Wayne Parkway, police said.

Although Begay denied the fight occurred, witnesses said Begay struck the victim several times to the head and face.

The victim left the scene in a car, but police later located her. She said the fight stemmed from an argument between the two the night before.
