Republican candidate forum in CG Wednesday

A Republican candidate forum will be held at 6 p.m. in Casa Grande at the Holiday Inn, 777 N. Pinal Ave.

This is the final public forum for the candidates before early voting for the Aug. 26 primary begins on Thursday.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of these Republican candidates:

• Scott Bartle, Arizona Senate (Legislative District 11)
• Jo Grant, Arizona House of Representatives (Legislative District 11)
• Gary Kiehne, U.S. House of Representatives (Congressional District 1)
• Frank Pratt, Arizona House of Representatives (Legislative District 8)
• T.J. Shope, Arizona House of Representatives (Legislative District 8)
• Roger Valdez, Justice of the Peace (District 2)
• Harold Vangilder, Arizona Senate (Legislative District 8)

The event is being organized by Casa Grande entrepreneur Garland Shreves.

“I’m extremely excited about giving voters a real opportunity to see these politicians as real people who are passionate about wanting to bring solutions to issues that are facing our community and not just as a collection of sound bites,” Shreves said. “It helps voters to see if candidates’ views and ideas align with their own to feel comfortable and informed about who they’re voting for.”
