Stant will get $840 from city

The city of Maricopa has released the terms of its wage settlement agreement with former Maricopa Police Sgt. Aki Stant.

Stant will be paid $840, the same amount he said was owed to him (click here for previous article) for unpaid overtime while he was on administrative leave.

Both Stant and the city have agreed to pay their own legal fees and Stant has agreed to dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice, meaning he can never file another case on the claim.

Stant’s claim had demanded triple the amount of his unpaid wages and to reimbursed for legal costs.

Both parties agreed that neither has committed any wrongdoing.

Stant was fired in November 2010 for failure to comply with an internal investigation into the actions of Officer Elliot Sneezy, who was one of his subordinates.
