Arpaio to speak Thursday at tea party meeting

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio will be the guest speaker at the Maricopa Tea Party monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at Maricopa Community Church, 44977 W. Hathaway Ave., across from post office.

Local tea party organizer Irene Littleton said she is excited to have Arpaio as guest speaker.

“I hope we have full house to welcome Sheriff Joe,” she said. “The church is preparing by adding sets.”

Seating will be limited to 150 people.

Also speaking will be Virginia Ross, Republican candidate for Pinal County recorder. The Pinal County Recorders Office provides two major areas of service to the public: recording of documents and registering voters.

Littleton said the organization is nonpartisan and open to everyone. “We want to educate any and all folks that want to know about what's going on in our country and government.”
