Single-family building permits holding steady

The number of single-family building permits issued by the city decreased by one in January from the month before, the least month-to-month change since January 2012, when seven permits were issued.

Thirty-four permits were issued in January; 35 in December.

The little change in month-to-month numbers contrasts with swings felt in the market last year.

In July, 23 permits were issued, dipping down to 21 in August, but up to 27 by September.

However, in October 15 permits were issued compared to 23 in November.

There were 312 total permits issued during the 2012 calendar year.
