Maricopa’s second Taco Bell is planned to open in April, despite rain delays.

Last year, InMaricopa announced the Tex-Mex drive-thru would open its second restaurant at 42080 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway. The first location is on the John Wayne strip near Bashas’.

In October, John Baldwin, owner of the Queen Creek-based Baldwin Development Group, told InMaricopa the wait for Taco Bell would not be too much longer. He anticipated an April opening. Yesterday, he confirmed the timeline stands.

Crews could be seen continuing to work on the restaurant’s drive-thru and exterior paneling on Wednesday.

It looks less like a shell and more like a bell.

“With the recent rains, we have had we have pushed our opening a couple weeks out,” Baldwin said yesterday. “We are still hoping to have the store open in April.”
