A Tempe Union High School District bus driver was cited by Maricopa police Wednesday afternoon for speeding in a school zone.

The violation occurred on West Honeycutt Road near Butterfield Elementary School, where the officer tracked Bus 150 speeding at about 1 p.m. There were no children onboard.

The bus driver was issued a citation for speeding in a school zone.

So many students who live in Maricopa attend Tempe Union district schools that bus service is provided to Maricopa.
