Grab your Easter basket and hit the egg trail! The Maricopa community of Tortosa is hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza on April 3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the main park on Honeycutt at Costa del Sol roads.

Last year’s Easter event drew more than 300 participants, and organizers expect an even bigger crowd this year.

“Really, it’s about the kids, creating a sense of community and getting to know your neighbors,” said Kim Lingo, lifestyle director with the Tortosa Community Association. “I hope everyone comes out and has a great time.”

The event features two Easter egg hunt: 3 and under in one area, and 4 and over in another. Both hunts begin at 11 a.m. “We’ll have an area that kids can come and decorate an Easter bag to use when they’re hunting for eggs,” Lingo said.

In addition to two Easter Egg hunts, there will be age-appropriate inflatable bounce houses and slides, carnival games, a bubble-blowing machine, cotton candy, popcorn and more. The Maricopa Fire Department will have a fire truck on display for the kids to enjoy. In addition, the event will feature performances by Maricopa Dance Academy and the Sequoia Pathway pep squads.
