Updated 10:03 a.m., Sep. 13, 2023.

Traffic light issues that snarled traffic last night seem to be continuing for Maricopa commuters, just a little further down the road.

This morning the traffic lights at the intersection of Interstate 10 and Queen Creek Road went dark, according to AZ511.

At 7:40 a.m., law enforcement officials could be seen on traffic cameras directing traffic.

Law enforcement officials were still directing traffic at 10 a.m., as the lights remained unfunctional.

ADOT confirmed the dark lights were caused by last night’s storms but did not provide details on how long traffic may be impacted.

Last night, the traffic light at State Route 347 and Riggs Road stopped functioning after multiple powerlines were downed, according to ADOT. This light has since been reactivated.

This is a breaking story and InMaricopa will update this post as more information becomes available.
