MUSD candidate: Vote ‘yes’ on override

386

Vote “yes” on the Maricopa public schools override Nov. 6.

Yes, you have other financial obligations and can’t afford it. I hear you.

Yes, you have taken your child out of Maricopa School Unified District. I have too.

Yes, our public schools are struggling compared to other districts.

Well, let me explain why you should vote “yes.”

I have said “yes” to all the questions above. However, I have not given up on my own child and surely not yours. At this time, Spencer does not attend Maricopa public schools for a few reason(s) and I shouldn’t have to pay if he doesn’t? I disagree.

I believe all children, regardless of my situation, should be challenged to the next level with the community support. In doing this, they need the proper support in terms of teacher ratio, retention of great teachers and salary.

Recently, I’ve had the opportunity to sit with a few of our teachers in an informal meeting. They have our kids’ education at their best interest Maricopa, that they are willing to sacrifice property tax dollars on their homes that will generate $1.35 million over two years. Vote “yes” to your children, I have.
