Dentist partners with MUSD, F.O.R. Maricopa in food drive

Nov. 18, staff members from Treasured Smiles Dentistry including Dr. Duane Clouse gathered donated food stuffs from each of the Maricopa Unified School District’s elementary school sites. This is the eighth year Dr. Clouse’s office has partnered with F.O.R. Maricopa (Maricopa’s community food bank) and the District’s elementary schools on the “Feed Our Families Food Drive”.

After picking up all of the food items from the six school sites, the total poundage was 12,396 pounds. The district is honored to partner with Treasured Smiles and F.O.R. Maricopa on this important community project. Dr. Clouse stated, “We could not have done this without the Maricopa Schools.  This contest is a great way to let the children in the schools get involved in helping those less fortunate.”

One of the highlights of each year’s food drive is the check awarded in the amount of $1,000 and presented by Dr. Clouse and Treasured Smiles Dentistry Staff to the school site that had the largest ratio of food poundage per student.  Santa Rosa Elementary School was this year’s winner.
