Jocks 4 Tots, a benefit softball league sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Division, donated 150 toys to help local children celebrate the holidays. Teams overwhelmingly surpassed the required entry fee of 15 toys per team.

“The Jocks 4 Tots Benefit League was an opportunity for the players to give back and help the community. It was an inspiration to witness all of the incredible gifts that were donated,” said Monica Rubio, Adult Recreation Services Leader.

Players and coaches understand that they made a difference for Maricopa families, and that their efforts would touch the lives of many. “This league not only gave us [the team] an opportunity to play the sport we love, it provided us an opportunity to give to children that may have otherwise missed out on Christmas,” reflected coach Stacie Cantu.

“My team always enjoys playing and having a good time after the games. It is even more fun when you know it benefits a great cause,” commented Maricopa Legends coach Chase Reno.

On behalf of the city of Maricopa, the Community Services Department would like to show appreciation and recognize the following eight teams who took part in the Jocks 4 Tots Benefit League: Maricopa Legends, Mayhem, Long Time No Play, ReMax, Terminators, Hunky Dory, Hops and Barley and the Aztecs.
