Mayor Christian Price officially recognized the patriotism of all the Veterans who served on the USS Liberty with a proclamation. 34 Americans died and more than 170 were wounded when the USS Liberty was attacked on June 8, 1967. “Now chronicled in our history, it is a day that will never be forgotten. On that day, the Liberty’s crew responded valiantly,” said Mayor Price.
