Calling all girls age 17-24. Hurry; don’t miss out on trying out for the Miss Maricopa Pageant.
Applications can be picked up at the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce or Dr. Karen Kramarczyk, DDS, Family Dentistry; both are located at 44870 W. Hathaway Ave. Other locations to pick up applications are Taco’s & More, located on John Wayne Parkway and W. Honeycutt Ave. near the high school or Maricopa City Hall.
The pageant has a Facebook page; check out Miss Maricopa, and a copy of the application will be emailed to you. Applications need to be turned back into the Chamber of Commerce or city hall no later than Sept. 14.
The top winner receives a scholarship, a portfolio, a one-year modeling contract and a walk-on role in a movie. Runners-up receive a scholarship.
Judges will be a well-known TV/film producer from L.A., a record producer from L.A. (a pre-judge for American Idol), a modeling/acting talent agent, a film director, a nutrition expert and a former Miss West Virginia.
If you are nervous about attending or want to get more information, join pageant organizers for an informational meeting on Saturday, Sept. 11, at Maricopa Dance Academy (across from ACE hardware) at 1 p.m.
