Former Maricopa Mayor Anthony “Tony” Smith had the most votes in the Pinal County Supervisor District 4 Republican primary race Saturday after all the early and provisional ballots were tallied with the polling-place votes. He beat Nancy Discher, Saddlebrooke, by 185 votes in a field of four.

“All the ballots have been counted,” Pinal County Elections Director Steve Kizer said Saturday. Results remain unofficial until votes are canvassed.

Smith was ahead by just 43 votes when precincts votes were tallied Tuesday night.

He faces fellow Maricopa resident Henry Wade, a Democrat, in the District 4 supervisor’s race in the Nov. 6 general election.
