Maricopa residents now have the opportunity to bank with one of the world’s leading financial services companies right in their own community. “As of today, October 25, at 9:00 a.m. the new Maricopa banking center is open for business!” These were the words of Manuelito “Lito” Lanza, manager of the new Maricopa Bank of America Banking Center at the grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony held earlier in the week.

The center features Bank of America’s new design and offers customers the highest standards of service, access and convenience. The new design features an open floor plan that includes a section where customers can relax in a sitting area that features a media wall with periodicals, financial planning resources, children’s books and a television. Mr. Lanza encourages customers to come in, have a cup of coffee and spend some time reading up on financial news.

Bank of America team officially open for business.

Upon entering the bank, customers are greeted at the door by a host who determines their needs. They are then guided to the teller line, a glass-enclosed conference room for private financial discussions, or one of several innovative technology stations that offer such features as web-based computer terminals providing access to account information and other products and services. Safe deposit boxes are now accessed through an electronic palm reader feature that provides a higher standard of convenience, safety and security.

Mr. Lanza is an example of hard work paying off. He started with Bank of America eight years ago and has been promoted from bank teller all the way to branch manager. At age 20, when he was hired as a teller in the Flagstaff, Arizona branch, he could not afford a suit and tie. He was given an advance on his first paycheck to purchase them and as he was walking to work a stranger helped him tie his tie. Mr. Lanza said, “I decided then that I wanted to give back to the community.” He is thrilled to be a part of this new Bank of America branch and is thankful for all of the professional opportunities Bank of America has given him. When asked what best describes him and his thoughts on working for the bank, Lito said, “If you don’t want to work another day in your life, then find a job that you love.”

The Maricopa banking center is a full-service facility with lobby and drive thru tellers, ATMs and a night depository. Lobby hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The center is located at 20944 N. John Wayne Parkway.
