Phoenix Police Department and Maricopa police swarmed the Cobblestone Farms neighborhood Friday evening.

A helicopter was also spotted circling the neighborhood.

“We received a call that an air unit was following a wanted suspect” said Maricopa police spokesperson Monica Williams. She said the suspect was on State Route 347 near Casa Blanca, at the time of the call for help.

Phoenix police put the suspect in custody and said they did not need help from Maricopa police, Williams said. “This is a Phoenix PD case,” she said.

Phoenix Police Department have not yet responded to questions regarding the case.

Phoenix PD and state troopers were seen, but DPS could not confirm its response.

Residents are advised to avoid the area.
