Maricopans can now call Bristol Palin “neighbor.” Palin, who garnered fame as the daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and as a participant on the popular reality TV show Dancing with the Stars, purchased a home in Cobblestone Farms.

The sellers were Mike and Cindy Smith, farmers from Minot, N.D., who winter in Maricopa. “We’re the kind of people who like to keep active, and we picked up a couple houses to fix up and put back on the market,” Mike said.

Mike said their real estate agent “was going through the offer and it said ‘Bristol Palin,’ then she saw she was from Alaska she knew it was the Bristol Palin.”

“It was like a normal transaction; a normal seamless transaction,” said Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s Karen Bosch, the Smith’s real estate agent.

The 3,929-square-foot home has five bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and a three-car garage. It has been on the market for less than 90 days and sold for $172,000 on Dec. 10.
