Native New Yorker offers breakfast on Sundays

The restaurant is located at 21164 N. John Wayne Parkway. For further information, call (520) 568-6077.

Night classes available for working moms
If you have not already seen a group of mommies pushing babies in strollers rolling through your neighborhood, you will soon. Stroller Strides of Maricopa recently announced night classes for working moms.

The workout is designed to keep mom fit and baby entertained during the hour long all-over body exercise program. The local Stroller Strides franchise, owned by Maricopa mom Jodi Cox, has been offering morning classes to local mothers for over a year now.

Cox is now offering night classes and a weekend morning class. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday nights at the park at Cobble Stone Farms at 6 p.m. and Saturday morning at 8 a.m. at The Villages clubhouse. Classes start around $2 each or more, depending on the membership.

For further information, call Cox at 888-263-5158 or email: [email protected] .

Domestic violence training Oct. 23
The City of Maricopa and the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce invite the public to “Cut it Out” on Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1 p.m., at 44870 W. Hathaway, Suite 5.

This national campaign builds awareness of domestic abuse and trains salon professionals to recognize warning signs and safely refer clients to local resources. This opportunity is free and supported by the Arizona Cosmetology Board and Arizona Attorney General’s Office. Training is provided by Against Abuse.

Kids’ Oktoberfest set for Oct. 27
Desert Sun Performing Arts and Desert Star Gymnastics will host the first annual “Kids’ Oktoberfest” on Saturday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Maricopa Manor Business Center, 19756 N. John Wayne Parkway (behind Great Western Bank).

The family event will include bounce houses, games, demonstrations, raffles and lots of other fun activities. The mission is to raise community awareness and help homeless children in Maricopa schools. All proceeds will go to benefit these children.

Vendor booths are available to businesses and groups that provide products and services for children in the community (dance, gymnastics, martial arts, girl/boy scouts etc.). The fee for the vendor booth is $30. In addition to the booth, each business is asked to donate a raffle prize of at least $20.

To take part in this event, contact Amy at [email protected] or Ceylan at [email protected]. Booths are limited and both businesses are accepting competitors in children’s services. To guarantee a booth, payment and application must be received by Oct. 15.
