Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) was completed March 5, and eight graduates from the community received certification from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The six-week course consisted of fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, CERT organization, disaster psychology and a mock drill.
Using the training from the free course, CERT volunteers can assist others in their community following a disaster when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
