Development Services Department gets audit

The Maricopa City Council on Tuesday authorized City Manager Brenda Fischer to negotiate and enter into a contract with Zucker Systems to conduct a manage review of the Development Services Department.

“The management review is a comprehensive 360 degree study of all divisions within the Development Services Department,” City Manager Brenda Fischer said. “It is anticipated that the results will identify the strengths of the department and include recommendations for how we can improve operations and policies that will foster and enhance growth and development in our community.

“We also expect recommendations for how to prepare for increased development activity as the economy improves.”

This review follows the recently completed audit of the Police Department and supports the city’s objective to provide quality municipal services.

“Much like the Police Department audit, I am seeking ways to streamline and improve city organizational efficiencies,” Fischer said. “Also similar to the Police Department audit, this review will include opportunities for the public and customers to participate in the process.”
