A sibling squabble over furry and feathery friends ended in an arrest and assault charges, according to the Maricopa Police Department.

Cops arrested 44-year-old Dannielle D. Echeverria Sunday and accused her of attacking her sister, according to a probable cause statement obtained by InMaricopa.

At about 3 p.m., officers responded to a reported assault at a home on West Magnolia Road in Senita. A woman told dispatchers Echeverria, who is her sister, assaulted her.

Police said the sisters engaged in a verbal sparring match after a pet dog snapped at a pet bird. Words turned to physical blows. The sisters reportedly punched each other multiple times before the alleged victim tried to take refuge in a bathroom.

Echeverria allegedly forced her way into the bathroom where she kept attacking her sister, who fell into the bathtub, cops said. The alleged victim told officers Echeverria pinned her down and kept punching her.

She told officers Echeverria only eased up after she said police were on the way.

Officers saw cuts and bruises on both women.

Echeverria was booked into Pinal County jail on a pair of domestic violence charges.
