Firebird International Raceway hosts hot boat world finals this week

The world’s fastest boats will be returning to Firebird Lake for the 26th Annual IHBA (International Hot Boat Association) NAPA Auto Parts World Finals Drag Boat Races this week.

Thirteen classes of boats, including the Top Fuel Hydros, Top Alcohol Hydros, Pro Gas Flats, and Top Alcohol Flats will be blazing across the liquid quarter-mile in speeds in excess of 240
miles per hour.

The NAPA Auto Parts World Finals is the final event on the IHBA Lucas Oil Racing Series and will decide the 2008 season champions. With Firebird Lake holding more than 20 current IHBA records, many more are expected to be broken this year.

Thirteen classes of boats, unique apparel, manufacturer displays, IHBA merchandise, a Kid Zone, Unlimited Light Hydro Race boats (ULHRA), RV parking, shaded grandstands, and so much more will be available from Thursday through Sunday.

Tickets range from $10-$48 for all access and upgrades Thursday to reserved Sunday. Kids 12
and under are free with a paying adult (except to reserve seating areas).

Firebird International Raceway opened in 1983. It is home to more than 25 events each year,
including the NHRA National Drag Races, Monster Truck Nationals, Summer Spectacular and
