Pastor: Jesus healed my son’s brain tumor

I have lived in Maricopa since the age of 5 and have seen so many people with needs of all kinds come and go throughout my life.

I am the pastor of Apostolic Tabernacle Church in Maricopa and recently witnessed a miracle produced by faith and prayer. If you have a need of any kind, I pray to bless your soul.

On July 6, I came home from work to see my 4-year-old son Jeremiah on the floor crying at the top of his lungs while holding his head and vomiting. My wife’s crying and praying over my son brought fear to me in such a large degree. Earlier in the week my son was taken to two hospitals and incorrectly diagnosed with flu and strep throat. That evening I picked him up as he was unconscious and rushed him to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

X-rays found an eight-centimeter tumor in his brain. The doctor sat down with my wife and me to tell us the bad news. The doctor said my son needed surgery immediately and that he would not make it through the night. I held my wife’s hand crying as the doctor continued to tell us, “If he survives the surgery tonight, he may not walk or he may not talk or even remember who you are.”

That night challenged my faith to the highest degree. I have seen so many miracles being a believer and preacher of the Gospel. It’s easy for me to believe God for anything when others come to me with a prayer request. I spent the night and slept with my son as the doctors prepared for surgery the next morning.

Before they took my son to cut him open, I snuck off to a room to pray. I fell on my knees desperate for Jesus to not just heal my son but to help me. If I was going to release my son to the doctors with a chance of never seeing him again, I needed my heart to be right with the Lord. I prayed this prayer, “Lord, if you must take my son I am going to be broken as you see me now but, if you need to take him, he belongs to you and not to me. I will not hold this against you or blame you. I love you and will serve you all the days of my life.”
