A police investigation into gunfire exchanged in Tortosa on March 9 is ongoing and remains “top priority,” according to Monica Williams, a spokesperson for Maricopa Police Department.

The call of shots fired drew a heavy response from police to the 19000 block of North Toledo. Police confirmed that one house was hit with gunfire and there were no injuries.

Witnesses told police that the two men were involved and they’d had left the scene before officers arrived.

“The investigation continues to be a top priority as we are committed to the safety of the residents impacted by the incident last week and the rest of Maricopa as a whole,” Williams said.

Police thus far have declined to release a description of those who witnesses said were involved or of vehicles seen leaving the area.

As the investigation continues, anyone who might have a video or any other information are asked to contact MPD Detective Colt Holman at [email protected] or call MPD’s non-emergency line at 520-316-6800.
