MHS plays hosts to police training

The Maricopa Police Department is conducting four training scenarios throughout the month of June on Maricopa High School’s campus grounds. The first was today.

“Each day will include the acting out of various scenarios inside of the MHS buildings,” police spokesman Ricardo Alvarado said in a press release.

“The training will support MPD in their ongoing efforts to serve and protect the citizens of the community,” Alvarado said.

Steve Chestnut, MUSD superintendent said Wednesday the, “Maricopa Unified School District has an excellent relationship with MPD and we greatly appreciate their support. This training is the most recent example of our relationship and their support of student safety in our schools.”

The remaining trainings will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 12, June 19 and June 26.
