Event aims to make safer neighborhoods

Maricopa neighborhoods are throwing parties 2 to 7 p.m. Nov. 3 to get neighbors together for the city’s first Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods event.

The aim of the program is to unite neighbors and communities to create safer neighborhoods. The Maricopa Police Department encourages interested parties to register their neighborhood’s GAIN event so members of the police and fire departments will know where to stop by and visit with residents.

Members of the city council also will visit various GAIN parties throughout the community.

To register your neighborhood’s GAIN event, or for more information, contact Block Watch Coordinator Joi-Ashli Gibbs at 602- 71-5707 or Sgt. Hal Koozer at 520-316-6878, or email [email protected].
