Maricopa Unified School District’s governing board will meet Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at the district office administration building, 44150 W. Maricopa-Casa Grande Hwy.

In addition to approving vouchers and personnel, board members and Superintendent Jeff Kleck will summarize and discuss the Arizona School Boards Association (ASBA) Law Conference.

Business Director Aron Rausch will provide the monthly financial report. He will also present information on the upcoming M&O Override

The final report to the governing board will be on the status of Genesis, the Edupoint student management system, which the board approved at their July 14 meeting. District data systems coordinator Rochelle Hornketh will present the report.

“Genesis will help facilitate accurate student data reporting to ADE. Genesis will not only be a district-wide asset to staff, it will also be an asset in communicating with parents and students by providing a secure Internet connection to view their grades, attendance and homework assignments,” Hornketh told the board at their July 14 meeting.

Also on the governing board’s agenda is approval of the Title VII Native American Parent Education Program’s parent advisory committee; this group will serve as a vehicle for increased parental involvement in the education of Native American children.

Annual approval for an IGA with the Pinal County Education Service Consortium is on the evening’s agenda. The Pinal County School Superintendent’s office provides student data, staff development, curriculum alignment and technology assistance to the district through this agreement.

A final agenda item has to do with Policy GBEAA, staff conflict of interest in the areas of supervision, hiring and business and vendor relations, including acceptance of gifts and gratuities.
