Single-family housing permits highest since last July

Builders in the city of Maricopa started the fiscal year off on a high note, pulling 57 single-family housing permits in July.

The city’s fiscal year runs from July to June, and the 57 permits are 27 more than the 30 per month figure used in determining the 2009-2010 budget.

In July there were 46 permits pulled, in May there were 22 and in April there were 47.

The 57 permits pulled is the largest number since July of 2008 when 101 permits were issued by the city.
