SmileLines Dental Center among scores of new businesses opening

The trend of new businesses opening is continuing and more than 16 new companies are expected to begin serving Maricopians by the end of August.

Among them is SmileLines Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, which is scheduled to open Wednesday, June 28. Owned and operated by Dr. Trevor Lines, SmileLines offers a multitude of services for both adults and children. Dr. Lines has had extensive specialized training and is certified in conscious sedation.

“We offer conscious sedation here in the office for children who are too young and scared to sit through dental procedures as well as for adults who are phobic,” Lines explained.

Dr. Lines’ office also offers same-day crowns. “We have a CEREC system that allows us to make crowns in the office,” said Lines. “Normally it would take a patient two weeks to receive a crown, but because of this technology we can do it on the same day.”

SmileLines Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is scheduling appointments by phone in advance of next week’s grand opening. As part of their opening special, Dr. Lines is offering a $1 check-up and x-rays for kids 12 and under (up to a $200 value) and a second offer of Free Tooth Whitening for adults who complete a full exam, x-rays and oral cancer screening, a $520 value (click here to download coupon). In conjunction with those offers, the first 25 patients to schedule appointments will receive a free meal for two at On the Go Bistro or Ramsey’s American Grill.

Scheduled to open in August, Fahrenheit Tanning, owned by Christian James and his parents, Darold and Margaret Fenlon, will be located in the Shops at Maricopa Fiesta. The salon will be host to indoor tanning beds and mist-on tanning. “There are different levels of beds which block out the burning UVB rays caused by the sun, making it safer than the sun,” according to James.

The company offers convenient service — even outside of Maricopa. “Because Fahrenheit Tanning is a franchise, you’ll be able to tan at any of the locations even though your home store is in Maricopa,” James explained.

Since she was a child, Elizabeth Fujimoto has dreamed of one day opening her own dance studio. Fulfilling that dream, Maricopa Dance Academy will begin registration for classes this July and will open its doors in September 2006.

The studio, which is located directly behind Arby’s in the Cobblestone Fiesta Shopping Center, will offer Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz/Lyrical, Hip Hop, Swing/Ballroom, Power Pilates, Yoga, Aerobics, Mommy and Me classes, Tumbling, Creative Movement and community dance classes.

“I’m very excited about all classes, but especially the ones for the older dancers,” stated Fujimoto, who achieves much satisfaction working with adults who haven’t danced for many years.

Fujimoto graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Ballet from the University of Utah, which was ranked #1 in the U.S. for ballet programs.
