A suspect was arrested after a shooting Sunday in Rancho El Dorado that sent one victim to the hospital.

The suspect, who has not been identified, allegedly fired into a vehicle that was driving away from the scene of a dispute between individuals around noon Sunday, according to Maricopa Police Department spokesman Ricardo Alvarado.

Three shots were fired at the car, injuring the passenger, according to police.

Police did not provide a street address for the shooting.

“The victim was struck and later flown to a Valley hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to stable condition,” Alvarado said. “We are not looking for outstanding suspect(s) and this doesn’t appear at this time to be a random act of violence. The suspect was arrested and booked into PSCO jail in Florence.”

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
