The annual spring concert of Maricopa Music Circle, “Dancing into Springtime,” will be April 2 at 7 p.m. at UltraStar Multi-tainment Center.

MMC founder Judith Lang Zaimont said the evening will be filled with music that inspires dance. It includes a performance by the Desert Sun Performing Arts troupe.

The music will range from Scott Joplin rags to film scores to Mozart masterpieces. MMC fans may recognize some numbers from their previous two performances. One was a medley specially created for the debut of the latest Star Wars film. The other was an Oscar-night bash of movie music.

So movie lovers will again enjoy the haunting theme from Laura and Henry Mancini’s beloved “Moon River” from Breakfast at Tiffany’s along with John Williams’ music.

For the more classically inclined, the concert will have music from Brahms, Dvorak, Debussy and the aforementioned Mozart. MMC will also perform Edvard Grieg’s “Peer Gynt Suite.”

The concert will be in Theater 12 at UltraStar. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the box office.
