Maricopa’s young music-makers in the spotlight

The music programs of Maricopa High School, Desert Wind Middle School and Maricopa Wells Middle School held the first ever MUSD Music-a-Thon on Saturday from 1:45-9 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Maricopa High School.

It was a marathon of year-end performances all in one afternoon and evening.

The festivities began with the sixth grade choir at 1:45 p.m,, moving on to orchestras at 2 p.m., followed by choirs, then bands, and culminating with a massed band of high school and advanced middle school musicians.

The students were under the direction of MHS Music Director Ivan Pour, Desert Wind Middle School music teacher Roger Wagner, and Maricopa Wells Middle School music teacher Tanya Hobt.
