Entry to Santa Rosa Springs was blocked by law enforcement officers this afternoon in the search for a robbery suspect.

The crime itself took place last night at a business in Buckeye. Two suspects fled from the scene near the 800 block of North Jackrabbit Trail in that community.

“The reporting person said a male took all the money from the cash register and used physical force against the employees when they tried to stop him,” BPD spokesperson Donna Rossi said.

One person was arrested today in Phoenix. Additional information led the Buckeye Police detectives to the City of Maricopa. The second suspect was located at a home in Santa Rosa Springs. Maricopa Police Department helped out, closing off streets within the development, which is off Porter Road south of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway.

Police blocked in the suspect’s vehicle with law enforcement vehicles. Rossi said the suspect was taken into custody “without incident.”
