ADOT closing portions of Loop 202 again

2200

Portions of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway in the Chandler area will be closed periodically this weekend for an improvement project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Anyone planning to visit the East Valley may need to take an alternate route.

ADOT recommends travelers to the area allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while traveling on two major East Valley routes.

The eastbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway will be closed between Interstate 10 and the Loop 101 Price Freeway from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 for traffic sensor installation. The ramps from I-10 to eastbound Loop 101 also will be closed. ADOT recommends using eastbound Chandler Blvd. as an alternate route.

The westbound side of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway will be closed between Loop 101 and I-10 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, also for traffic sensor installation. The southbound Loop 101 ramp to westbound Loop 202 will be closed, as will the westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Alma School Rd. Alternate routes suggested by ADOT include using northbound Loop 101 to westbound US 60 Superstition Freeway, or westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway.
