Community groups at Salsa Fest on Wednesday agenda

The city’s Parks, Recreation and Libraries Committee will discuss Wednesday whether to allow community groups to perform at this year’s Salsa Festival.

The decision was made last week to place the issue on the committee agenda after residents expressed concern about a city staff decision to have performances at this year’s March festival focus on the event’s theme, which would exclude various community groups.

The committee will discuss the issue and make a recommendation to council.

Wednesday’s meeting starts at 6 p.m. at City Hall on White and Parker Road, just north of Bowlin Road.
