Mayor Christian Price and Councilwoman Peggy Chapados are offering a free workshop on council elections 8 to 10 a.m. Feb. 1 at The Villages Clubhouse, 20991 N. Butterfield Parkway.

Titled “(Practically) Everything You Should Know Before Running for City Council,” the workshop is geared to anyone thinking about becoming a candidate, previously has run for council, would like to be involved on a candidate’s election committee or someone who just wants to learn more about being involved on the council.

Election nominations packets are available starting today at city hall. The primary election is Aug. 26 and the general is Nov. 4.

Seats up for election currently are held by Price, Chapados, Vice Mayor Edward Farrell and Councilwoman Julia Gusse.

Price and Chapados are teaming on the workshop as private citizens and are not acting in their official capacities, Chapados said.

More information on the workshop is available by emailing Chapados at [email protected] or Price at [email protected]. Click here to visit the city’s elections page.
