Vero’s Chicago Pizza wasn’t the only business to install signage this week.

The long-awaited Cold Stone Creamery unfurled its own “coming soon” banner this week in the Maricopa Wells shopping center at 17430 N. Porter Road.

The store’s website is accepting job applications and shows its status as “coming soon,” but did not list an opening date.

Cold Stone’s progress, however, has been moving forward at glacial speed. Interior construction appears to have only recently begun with some floor work, even though the creamery received its permit for tenant improvements in November.

The creamery will share space with Colorado-based Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, which may feature a case of chocolates and caramel apples near the register.

A spokesperson for Cold Stone did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
