Maricopa Mayor Christian Price proclaimed the week of April 19-25 to be Crime Victims' Rights Week on the steps of City Hall Tuesday morning.
City officials and guests gathered at the steps of City Hall to officially kick of Crime Victim’s Rights Week. Along with City of Maricopa staff, a wide range of local “faith-based” groups were in attendance, as well as Pinal County Attorney Lando Voyles and Judge Lyle Riggs.
“It really helps us to be further aware of the trials and persecution [the victims] go through,” Mayor Price said. “The more that we are aware of what they’re dealing with, the more sympathetic it makes us. It makes us understand and believe their stories a little more.”
