Move over, Circle K and Starbucks — more housing development is coming to the growing Stonegate commercial area.

Minnesota developer Roers Companies proposed building another rental community by Home Depot, according to documents obtained in a public records request.

If approved, the development will sit just east of another pedestrian-friendly rental development proposed last month, near a handful of recently announced storefronts.

In a project narrative, the developer proposes a 231-unit, gated complex that will consist of one-, two- and three-bedroom units. Amenities include a swimming pool, fitness center, dog park and playground.

This will be the fifth Arizona development sought by Roers Companies, which built apartments in Flagstaff, Buckeye and Casa Grande. The company’s website shows a 200-unit development in Maricopa called Alto that is estimated to open in winter 2025 on the southwestern corner of North Porter and Iron Point roads.
