Blowing-dust advisory in place

A blowing-dust advisory is in place for Maricopa and northern Pinal County until 7 p.m. Winds could gust to 30-40 mph.

Expect visibility to shrink to about a mile. Suddenly reduced visibility will create hazardous driving conditions along roadways, including Interstate 10, I-8, State Route 347, SR 238 and SR 85.

If you encounter blowing dust or blowing sand on the roadway or see it approaching, pull off the road as far as possible and put your vehicle in park. Turn the lights all the way off and keep your foot off the brake pedal.
