Liquidate AZ Inc. has leased Suite E in the Mesquite Building at 12501 N. Murphy Road in Ak-Chin’s industrial park, Santa Cruz Commerce Center.
Liquidate AZ specializes in both personal and business merchandise liquidations that range from coins and jewelry to flooring and furniture.
According to owner Shelly Guilford, 95 percemt of the merchandise is new, but it could be a discontinued style, an item that was returned or something from an estate. Liquidate AZ owns most of the merchandise it auctions.
“We ship all over the United States and people will drive from far away as Williams or Mexico to pick up their items,” Guilford said.
Liquidate AZ holds one or two online auctions per month. They typically start at 10 am on Thursdays and go until noon. Since much of its merchandise is home supplies — bathroom vanities, lighting fixtures, tiles and other home repair products or furnishings, many of its customers are home remodelers, handymen, house flippers, plumbers and other home repair specialists. Merchandise is sold wholesale and inventory turns quickly, so there are always new treasures and deals to discover.
Guilford, along with her husband and two children, moved to Maricopa a little over a year ago. At that time, her business was located in Tempe.
“I really wanted a location that was closer to home,” she said. “The great thing about our new location at the Mesquite Building is that it is just 8 minutes from our house.”
Guilford also cited affordability as another location factor. “This move has enabled us to cut our cost of doing business considerably.”
According to Ak-Chin Industrial Park Board Chairman Charles Carlyle, the Mesquite Building is now fully occupied and discussions are underway for a second multi-tenant building at the Commerce Center.
