Crossing John Wayne Parkway, Yellowhair allegedly began running toward Circle K after spotting police driving toward him. He ultimately came to a stop at the crosswalk and identified himself to officers.

Yellowhair was allegedly “verbally aggressive,” telling officers to take their badges off and refused to explain what happened at CVS. Another officer still at CVS identified the woman as Yellowhair’s girlfriend and observed fresh, red marks around her neck. The caller who reported the incident told officers he saw Yellowhair with both hands around the woman’s throat and heard her scream.

Yellowhair is accused of forcing her to the ground and standing over her while yelling. While she did not lose consciousness, the woman complained of a headache.

The woman told police the altercation began after Yellowhair accused her of cheating as they pulled into the CVS parking lot.

Christopher Yellowhair was booked into Pinal County Jail.
